The Idaho Music Educators Association is a nonprofit educational organization of current and former music teachers and administrators across Idaho in public/private schools and universities and colleges, including private studio teachers and music educators living in retirement. IMEA is a state affiliate of NAfME, the National Association for Music Education, a 85,000 member organization representing music educators across the United States. Our goals include the advocacy of music with government, school boards & administrators, parents & society; betterment of conditions for teaching music to our students; recognition and opportunities for outstanding student musicians; exploration of better and alternative teaching materials and methods; and mutual support through meetings, conferences, and individual help. The Mission of IMEA is to promote and advance Music Education in all Idaho schools, to foster personal and professional growth of music educators, and to standardize and enhance musical opportunities for all students throughout the state.

2018 All-State Inservice Conference

The 2018 IMEA All-State Inservice Conference will be held February 1-3, 2018 on the campus of the University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho. Be sure to check out the All-State/Conference page under the Events menu for more information about:

All-State Gala Concerts

  • All-State Instrumental Concert - February 3, 2018, 1:00 PM
  • All-State Choral Concert - February 3, 2018, 3:00 PM

Both concerts will be held in the International Ballroom at the Bruce C. Pitman Center on the Campus of the Univeristy of Idaho, 709 Deakin Ave., Moscow, Idaho 83844.
Tickets are $8.00 for adults and $6.00 for students. (These are the correct ticket prices. The previously listed price was in error.)

  • Non-member Registration - $275.00
  • Collegiate Member Registration - $65.00

Hotel rooms in Moscow are very limited. Reserve your room as soon as possible. For a list of IMEA blocked out rooms, check the All-State page.

Friday, February 2nd is Bring Your Administrator to Conference Day. School administrators can register for free* to attend the conference sessions and concert hours that day. There will be a special Administrator's Open Forum during the day where they can discuss music program concerns and ideas. Please invite your administrators to attend. Pre-registration can be found at OpusEvents.com.
*Friday Banquet tickets and Saturday's concert tickets can be purchased separately.

IMEA State Solo & Ensemble Competition

The 2018 State Solo & Ensemble Competition will be held at Mt. View High School in Meridian, Idaho on May 4-5, 2018. We will be adding Brass Ensembles this next year. There have also been changes to the required music lists. Be sure to check out the State Solo page for more information.
